Why did you get pissed at Zonealarm?  I have run zonealarm firewall for
years now with no antivirus programs and I have had 0 problems with much
better computer performance....especially good deal since it's free.

Also, another way to prevent this in the future is to buy a router and run
through that, it sort of acts as another firewall.

3 other tools to try- TrojanHunter, HijackThis, and CWShredder.  It was some
combination of these along with AdAware and SpyBot S&D that cleared me up
when I had an issue a couple years back (that Norton AntiVirus didn't catch-
bastards).  Sometimes you've got to run a bunch of these spyware tools to
clear things out.    Read the online forums for spyware removal- there are
some of these scans you need to run in Safe mode to truly eliminate the
pests.

I used to like ZoneAlarm but am pissed at them now.  Yesterday I renewed for
another year, and after downloading the updates my home PC is in a constant
reboot loop.  ZoneAlarm technical support advises standard response to issue
requests is 3-5 days :-(

Intermittently it will spring to life and my PC will be used as a mail
server. Using Commview I can see all the emails being fed through my
PC.

My attempts to kill this thing has so far failed.

Tried:
Adaware
Spybot search & destroy
Panda
Microsoft online scanner
Zone alarm

The only way to stop it is to block all traffic through my pc and
set up rules....big pain in the butt!

I am ready to take the next step which is install a new hard drive
(already have) and start with a fresh OS install, then very carefully
copy pertinent data over.


Any ideas?
