Battery is likely TOAST anyways.
4 years is pretty good for most batteries it seems (at least for me anyways)
If you don't charge the battery, it will not have the correct specific
gravity in the electrolyte.
With out the proper electrolyte, the battery WILL freeze.
So, go charge it, or replace it with a new one.
I use a deep cycle (yellow top) optima battery because I don't use the car
much.
Seems to help it out with standing in the cold.
