Well I've never had an Audi engine in a stand with the flywheel on,
but you can do it with the actual factory engine stand head - it's
something like $800 or more. I laughed when quoted the price a few
years ago. It's easy enough to pull the flywheel - definately not
worth nearly a grand to avoid removing a few bolts.
Or with a big heat source, some 3/4" steel bar, and a welder you could
make what you need. Steel bar makes a wide sloping 90 degree bend that
leaves the engine a good 6" out from the base. I looked through as
many pictures I could and only found 1 that sorta shows how Porsche
engine stand heads work. There enough room on them that I torque
flywheels on while in the stand.
