[s-cars] variable servotronic

I suggest you try first a voltmeter, then an ampmeter, before you try a
potentiometer. Knowing what you deal with is the best way not to set
anything on fire.

I have no idea what kind of signal it carries and would be glad to know,
BTW.

We've talked about switching the servotronic relay so that it can be
activated/deactivated on the fly. That's good and fun and all, but it
didn't occur to me until today (I'm a bad, bad electronics nerd) that we
might could put a potentiometer on that line for variable assist. But I
don't really have any idea how this system works electrically. Any
insight? If I try it will I set something on fire? Is it electrically
impossible due to something about it that I don't know?

Shall we call it...

Steering boost controller?
Power steering cut defenser?

-Cheers!
Mike
