Another reason would be a jammed temperature flap.

Channel 1 should tell you what's wrong.

If it's a jammed temperature flap, the access to the electrical motor is
easy and the motor is usually rebuildable, so you're in a 1h repair with no
expense.

The other day with temp at 70, i noticed it was getting very hot. So
yesterday i noticed that on low its cool on 64 and up its hell. Seems like
its on or off the heat now no way to adjust.
What the way to check this out, i know i must pull codes its just i forgot
now how to.
