[s-cars] Current draw/dead battery "a short story"

I understood your point Tom, I read you 5 X 5. As indicated in the wiring
diagram, that relay from pin 5/87a also feeds (J69) After-run coolant fan
control relay at 4/86 and pulls the relay closed to feed V7 (Coolant Fan) to
start spinning. V7 is only protected with a 25 Amp fuse (S 19)
J69 location is on Aux Relay Panel I (under hood)
F98 location is on the coolant manifold, forward position, 2-pin
J155 location is on the Aux Relay Panel III, position 5
S61 location is on the Aux Relay Panel III, position 8, 12 Amp C/B (Blue)

My point on the after run circuit is that the fan runs as well as the
little coolant
pump you might not hear. The fan is what depletes the battery in
short order
when this circuit stays on, and can even catch on fire, so you don't
want to mess
with a suspect relay. Unfortunately, there are so many other places
for the current
to leak.
When you celebrate success in this endeavor, I recommend a bottle of
"Jarhead
Red" from Firestone vineyards in Los Olivios, Ca, a product of Adam
Firestone,
Capt, USMC, 84-91, proceeds to the Marine Corps foundation.
