[s-cars] 034 clutch/flywheel BTDT?

Mike,

I haven't checked the price of a stock clutch kit from the normal suppliers
recently, and I can't say that I've heard anything about the setup below.
However, I do recall people getting the Centerforce Clutch kit from Summit
Racing with decent results, and I seem to remember them saying it was near
the price of a stock clutch kit.  Current price for the Centerforce is just
under $400.

Keep in mind what their "kit" comes with vs. other kits and what you'd want
to be replacing while you're in there.  They don't include pilot bearing or
throw out bearing.  You'll also want to check the condition of the sleeve
the T/O bearing rides on.  This would also be the time to examine and
consider a new rear main seal.

034 is recommending an 01A alu flywheel and corresponding clutch as a cost 
saving performance upgrade from stock. (I'll be RS2ing the car and looking 
for cost saving options) The case being that the much lower price 
flywheel, than S car spec, (when mated to the matching 01A clutch )will 
bolt up to the S car 01E and work fine. Anyone been down this road and 
care to comment? I didn't note any holders of this option in the archives.
