[s-cars] Xenon upgrades into C4

Just a quick note. I thought I'd be a clever fellow and upgrade my 
C4 ecode headlamps with TT projectors. Turns out that the lowbeam 
halogen projector in the ecode headlamp is somewhat different than 
the US DOT halogen projector.

As a result the TT projector upgrades discussed on the list 
recently do not appear to work well with ecode lamps.

I haven't done any exploring personally...my mechanic spent some 
time with an ecode lamp on his dining room table yesterday evening 
and reported back. Fortunately he has a very understanding 
spouse!

Anyway, we're going to upgrade the US DOT housings already in my 
son's car. Is there a particular reason to swap the lenses, or 
should we simply retain the US DOT lenses?

Speaking of which...does anyone have a pair of clean US DOT lamps 
for a '96 A6. My wife's car *also* has the ecodes and she's next 
up for an upgrade, so I'll need to source a set of US DOT 
lamps...
