NC is like that a bit too, except that here they just stay home. If they 
predict snow at all, and I mean if they specifically say "scattered 
flurries, but nothing will stick" every frigging place in town is closed for 
the day. Also for some reason people go on a milk and egg buying spree. 
Flurries predicted? The next day every store within 50 miles is sold out of 
milk and eggs. WTH?
