Martin - this will be tough part to find used. I just went through the same
thing as you did a month ago (search archives for "belly pan blues").

I ended up finding a used one for - seriously - $30. A miracle.

However, most of the responses I got (and they were only two) were for the
part in the $100 range, not including hardware.

I also learned that an A6 pan won't work. In other words, you need to find a
pan from a '95 S6 if you go the used route. Given the low import numbers,
that makes things interesting.

Don't even bother with regular junkyards. They won't have this part. Try
Force 5, post a "wanted" ad on the audifans site and even try the audiworld
site.

Some listers are running w/o the pan. There's an ongoing debate about the
merits or lack thereof of doing this (easier to change the oil, but no bueno
for air flow through the intercooler).

And, maybe your post will revive the discussion of someone fabricating these
parts. At least that's what happened with my post! ;-)
