[s-cars] Quattro.... there is no substitute - just add JNR

Taka,
The RS4 has not nearly the torque of the LT1 (320 vs. 400 ft/lb) and the LT1
makes 400 ft/lb at 1800 rpm. :-) Come to Gruppe-Q in 08 we can demonstrate
the LT-1Q for you. Maybe we can convince someone with an RS4 to help do
some head to head testing. ;-)
The tail of RS4 hangs out quite well but I found it was difficult to feel
out the limits of grip and I spun many times. If we had narrower rims/tyres
and suspension better suited to the conditions methinks it would have been a
completely different story.
Regards

Thanks, Peter.
Although I think I'd have to take an RS4 over the LT-1Q. :-)
It must have been fun driving an RS4 in the snow- with the torque of the V-8
and the rear-biased AWD,
could you hang the tail out?

Taka,
Drove an RS4 at the Bridgestone course in Steamboat (Grippe-Q). I found the
ESP fought with me on any spirited driving, sometimes under steering
sometimes just applying the brakes to a wheel when we were nowhere near
limits. Once I had ESP off the difference is remarkable... Still not enough
feedback for my liking though. Wont be trading the LT-1Q on an RS4 for snow
driving any time soon. :-)
