Tom,
I'll try Scott tomorrow. I had a friend with a 95 replace this part a couple years ago and I remember it being a separate bracket that bolts to this bracket that holds the wheel. On my 95.5 its one big piece. I'm sure there is a way to press the bearing out and replace it but I would rather just replace the whole thing since that is how it was meant to be replaced. It did last 209K miles so no complaints there.
Lol, yea, pulling the engine would have been about as easy.
Yes, the bearing seized up and the serpentine belt held tight enough that the engine would not crank over, I am suprised it held that tight. Anyway, I might just go to the dealer and get the part new so that I don't have to worry about it for a couple hundred thousand more miles.
Elijah

If you are still unsure, maybe a call to Scott Mockry can clear up your needs, Eliah. He has had the support for sale, but is now without the
bearing. I had been under the impression you could buy the bearing separately. However, I don't think there are any differences in the parts,
and, myself, I would have Patrick's part on the way. I understand your frustration at taking the car apart to get the part out. Perhaps leaving
those parts in place and removing the engine would have been easier? :-)
Your original post was that the engine would not turn over. Have you found that this bearing is frozen and keeps the serpentine belt from moving,
and thus provides enough resistance that the starter can't turn the engine over?
