[s-cars] Coil swappin...again

Hmmm.... I heard basically the same thing from 034 when I called them about
their harness many many months ago. I am sure there is a case to be made
against the 1.8 coils but I would also take it with a grain of salt when the
company advising against them also suggests a set up that is twice as much
$$. Granted I am sure that the remote HO coils is a better system without
question for a highly tuned S car, but I think there are many users of
1.8coils here that have had no problems running on stock up to and
beyond Rs2
setups and it certainly seems a better solution than replacing the oem coils
one by one as they fail.
That remark about never driving under full boost in summer makes me smile
:) I installed my Apikol harness and coils in June and drove pretty much
full boost all summer with my MRC stage 2 set up and 1.9B spring with boost
peaking at 24 psi and holding stable at 20 psi all day long with no
problems. This was in the oppressive heat and humidity of the mid atlantic
region with that little K24 breathing fire at 18+ psi!
Good luck with your HO setup, I am sure it is nice and you'll never have to
worry again about coil failures!
My $.02
