Oh how great it is to turn the talk to some real wrenching audi issue ;)
FWIW WRT clunks
... Apparently I have worn out the red pigs rear subframe bushings
(148k) which also produces a clunk.
Mechanic thinks he can torch out the old and install new... but has to
give it some thought and seek parts.  There was a day when I would
have jacked this baby up, ripped it apart, put it back together and
repair the parts I had broken along the way... and then of course do
the reinstall.
Stay tuned to see how all this turns out.
