if a trap door is made to aid in easier oil change access, why not make  it a sliding door instead of hinged?  less chance of coming open.  would this version weigh the same as the original?  I dont think  the the center pan hangers can handle much more weight, they are pretty  flimsy.
  
  I would agree with others in thinking stock maybe the way to go.  what about a group but on these?
