Regarding rebuilt axle in order to replace a CV joint: I had a horrible
experience buying a rebuilt axle for a Honda. It introduced a low speed
vibration, after 3 axles and no solution, I just cleaned, greased and
re-booted the old axles and the problem went away.
With that experience, either get a VERY reputable rebuilder or pay the big
bucks for a new CV joint (my preference).
I use Ted's Service Center in Lancaster, CA. Not in the LA area exactly but
in LA county.
