[s-cars] Hood latch clip broke. Help!

You can also grab the cable with some pliers where it attaches to the  
release handle inside the car. You should be able to pull it far enough to get  the 
hood latch to release.

So I went to go open the  hood this morning to check the air pressure
lines running to the FPR to see  if they were leaking.  I pulled the
hood opener and heard this slight  crack accompianed with the sound of
something hitting the concrete.   It looks like a piece of white
plastic, cylindrical in shape.
To top  this off the bloody hood won't open, otherwise I would just
epoxy this and  be on my way.  Anybody have a clue on how to open the
hood from the  outside. The little clip that broke, I am sure is the
one on the drivers  side, since that side will raise about 1.5in.
