[s-cars] Hood latch clip broke. Help!

Well, imagine that. The parts illustration shows the 4A0 823 570
plastic clip in place and a 4A0 823 567 spring metal clip over on the
side with
no clear indication where it fits. That is part 25 for the plastic
and 24 for the metal. I found the invoice with the part # on it and
sure enough the
dealer had sold me the metal clip. IIRC, the parts specialist said
the plastic clip had been superseded by the metal clip and I didn't
question it at
$0.99 each.
I always liked the plastic clips better and think they fit better and
are kinder to the cable. The back of the plastic clip is a "v"
shaped spring that
may need some encouragement or lubrication to get it to snap into
place. The metal clips look more durable, but the OEM plastic lasted
10 years.
