Audi designed a new line for the recall. Instead of running down behind the
steering rack, it runs across the firewall behind the POS mounts and coil
connectors. You don't need to remove the steering rack or transmission to
install the new line.

As I recall, to install the OEM replacement line involves removing the
steering rack. Yes, a bit of work. My 'certified audi technician' tried to
install it without removing the rack and wound up bending a lot of other
lines in the area, I was not happy.
