[s-cars] Trunk has turned into das Guillotine

Hi Guys,
 
Either one or both of my trunk struts have recently become very weak and I now have a trunk that is
a deadly weapon... my question... is there a fix other than a replacement and is there other than
das uber priced genuine stealer replacement available?   I would be tempted to leave it, but my
trunk is my laptop storage department when parking, so I am in it all the time.

ps, Quattro is made for Saskatchewan .... pity you guys that don't have snow and glare ice 4 months
