I dropped a part from the pump down into the engine bay. I spent 2 hours
pulling off stuff till I found it. Here's what I was doing and I just want
to make sure I found EVERYTHING.
While removing the round plug on top of the pump (the one that requires the
drag-link to unscrew it) a part escaped. I found a spring. Now can somebody
verify the parts from top down:
Plug
Outer O-ring (on plug)
Mini-Valve thing (head on top of spring)
Spring (with mini-valve stem inside)
Inner O-ring (still in pump body)
[is there a check-ball down that hole?]
I think the 'mini-valve thing' is used to prevent the spring from wearing a
hole through the cap. The valve stem would be inserted into the spring,
keeping the spring centered over the check-ball (that I haven't looked for
yet)
Thanks to anybody who has duplicated this adventure.
David
