SOOPERCOOL Sean, THANKS for the tidbits.

Any idea how to um go about "editing that setting"???  F'n paperwork
that comes with it is moot.  Please point me in right direction -
greatly appreciated.

You can edit that setting. You can decrease the interval and remove
the noise if you'd like. There's also a Phatnoise extension called
PhatVoice (search google) that gives you all types of hints and tips
on how to modify your Phatbox. PhatVoice's main claim to fame is a
better voice integration with a choice of voices.
