The ECS stage 2 brackets and the RS2 brackets put the caliper in
different locations. I went through this whole routine earlier this
year when I replaced my ECS brackets with the RS2 parts. The first
set of ECS brackets had cracked after less than two years, and while
ECS had replaced the brackets free of charge, I lost my enthusiasm for
their solution (the replacement brackets were an identical design).
When it came time to replace the 314mm rotors that came with the ECS
kit I went with the 323mm A8 rotors (actually aftermarket rotors made
by DBA for the D2 A8) and the RS2 brackets.

the new rotors and caliper brackets required 5mm spacers on the front
to clear the 16x8 S4 wheels, though the 314mm rotors and ECS stage 2
brackets did not require spacers to clear the same wheels.
