Steve:

Bentley is confusing on this because it shows either the standard single
piston calipers for the 100/A6 or the fancier 4 piston calipers found on the
euro-spec S6. Oddly, it does not show the Girling 2 piston calipers that are
stock on US-spec cars.

For the A6/100, Bentley says 92 ft lbs for the carrier to the strut bolts.
I'm assuming the bolt is the same on the US-spec S4/S6. These are M12x1.5
grade 10.9 IIRC. My handy dandy torque chart shows a recommended torque
value of 125 Nm (92 ft-lbs). Torquing these to 148 ft-lbs is way too high
and 60 is too low. Even 12.9 grade is 145 Nm for a M12 bolt.

I'd re-torque those to 92.
