[s-cars] UPDATE - Help - Can't shift into 1st or 2nd!

Nothing looks bad in your pic, but the linkage bits that folks are
questioning are in the tunnel.  A lift helps greatly, as does
exhaust/heatshield removal.  On mine, I could put my hand on the lever
at the tranny and get it into every gear but 1 and 2, so that ruled out
the linkage.

I could actually get it into 2nd using the shifter in the car, but it
took hurculean effort (needed assistance from my legs).  Also required
same force to get out of 2nd.  Never tried it again after that.  I was
stunned that the shifter didn't break off in my hand.

Get under the car and check the linkage.  The apikol PDF posted before
has some pics that'll help you.  I really hope you find a loose bolt or
worn bushing down there...
