[s-cars] WTB: Front Bumper Cover Clips

I ended up going to my local boneyard http://www.absolutegerman.com/ &
saw a newer A6 (95-97) with a destroyed bumper. The clips were intact so
I had the yard guy saw-zall both ends off for $30. The splash guard is
smaller due to no flares on the A6, but I didn't care & didn't want to go
through the labor of swapping it. Bodyshop used a heat gun to get the
clips off & razor-bladed off the mounting tabs then plastic welded the new
one on $100 cash. The bumper cover no longer hangs off/low like a
teenagers over-sized jeans that hang at their knees.

Problem now is the temperature gauge that mounts on the bumper wasn't
installed right & got dragged a little so it's worn down some and is
displaying 10degrees hotter. Does this affect anything ecu-wise? What's
the price on one of these?

When I had to replace my front bumper cover, I bought a new skin and
new clips that bolt to the front fenders. The corresponding clips on
the bumper skin are plastic welded to the skin itself. You can buy
the clips that bolt to the car, but the ones on the skin are integral.
