[s-cars] Mystery spring

S-men,
I'm working on my brakes and noticed a spring hanging vertically from a
lever mechanism under the bottom of the car in front of the left rear wheel
well.  It is about 6 in long with a hook on the end.  It is attached to
nothing and I can't see that it has a purpose.  My Bentley needs to be
updated for a new computer so I don't have much reference material.  Any
help greatly appreciated.
