i need to refinish my seats, as cracks have appeared in the finish (but
not yet in the leather itself). i was getting ready to buy some surflex,
but colorplus says it needs a 1 sq. in. sample to do a color match.
i can't find any place to get a 1 sq. in. piece. there isn't enough
excess material under the back seat, and the other pieces don't seem to
have any easy way to get some excess material.
i recall that other people on this list have had surflex matched to their
ecru interiors, and i was prepared to just ask for that blending. but
colorplus says it might not be the same as what i have. how much of a
risk is this? the front seats are pretty worn and i haven't been able to
get all the dirt out, so they already look different from the seat backs
and the other seats anyway. i have a '92 S4, green with ecru interior, if
that makes any difference.
