How about hydrogen and oxygen generated by wind or solar PV.
There are Buses in Chicago (I believe) already running hydrogen power.
On a mass production scale, maybe 15 years. Again where is the demand and
who is hiding it.
Used battery dispose is a bit of a problem, where as the byproducts of
hydrogen fuel cells is.. well... water.
Maybe all that water on the ground from a world of fuel cell cars would lead
to global cooling :-)
Really, we are screwed... Well not "us", but our kids kids. Kinda sad to
think that in 100 years we might just be living in a big bubble. You need to
have the masses behind you before much will get done, and up in these parts
the masses don't really get behind much, well nothing actually.
Things have changed from yesteryear, and they will continue to change.
