just don't buy a used T40 unless you know it's one of the updated ones.
mine just cracked its motherboard for the second time. there's a weakness
in the case - IBM didn't take into account how users usually pick up
their laptops (by the front edges or just one corner, for example).
the early cases tend to flex and crack. my laptop started freezing
randomly, and i don't know if it's worth it to replace the motherboard
when new laptops are so cheap.
