[s-cars] No heat diagnosis please

Hi Sam,
I was wondering how cold it would have to get before you got serious
about this and
checked the codes. :-) You can move the temp regulator flap
manually and get heat
but the motor won't move the flap-sounds like a problem diagnosed and
ready to fix--
just replace the flap motor assembly. What the hell do you want to
keep testing for?
You can clear the fault codes the same way you clear ecu fault codes
since that is what
they really are, just conveniently read on the cc head. See the SJM
web site for details
on code clearing--basically, pull ecu fuse in passenger footwell.
I wouldn't test too many of those little motor assemblies with
battery power since they are
designed to run on 5.7V IIRC. The potentiometers are inside the
little motor boxes. They
can be opened and cleaned but you have to be really good at miniature
motor and switch
repair to have it work when you reassemble. Just buy one here:

Hopefully it won't be spring before it arrives. :-) I'm thinking we
had much of this discussion before it
got really cold.
