[s-cars] S8 pulling when stopped in Drive

Thanks for the offer, David. I may take you up on this later.
It had not occurred to me that the torque converter might be going bad and
it would be interesting to understand the mechanics of this particular
failure. I may follow up on the suggestion of posting on the Audiworld
forum to see what I may learn.
Another thing which I have noticed, but did not think of mentioning, is that
occasionally when I pull up to a stop light there is a noticable thump,
which I have associated with the torque-converter lock-up disengaging. This
would add support to the idea that the torque-converter may be generally
faulty.
I will definitely approach the mechanic who performed the rebuild to see
what he may know.
