So let's see, Lee-
A tourist is going to come to Boston to tour the medical facilities, Harvard
and MIT and a bunch of factories? :-)
The historical stuff is definitely there, but name some world-class
restaurants in Boston (I'm not saying there aren't any, I would like to
know, seriously).
The pilgrims landed in New England because they're a bunch of masochists.
BTW, we have what Frank Bruni of the NY Times named the best Italian
restaurants in the United States (Vetri), definitely in the top 10. One of
the best French restaurants in the US, too. And one of the best Spanish
restaurants.
There's a ton of historical stuff in Philadelphia- after all, Boston was
never the capital of the US. We also have a very good art museum, a
world-class symphony hall with a decent orchestra, etc.
I'm not talking about the sports- you definitely have us beat, there. You're
talking to the wrong guy about that, because I really couldn't care less
about the Phillies, Eagles, Flyers, etc.
I'd put Philadelphia on par with Boston. I hope you're kidding about
Montreal.
