Here in Canada they came in manual too. Not many, but they did come.

ETKA shows for AFC, 4A0 711 141 R (leatherette) or T (leather) or P (wood)
For S-car, 4A0 711 141 A (leather) or P (wood)

I believe the C4 A6 was only available with an automagic transition,  
so the whole shebang would be different, wouldn't it?
