[s-cars] Q7 ramblings

OK, so maybe it is only marginally harder once you get used to it.....do you
realize what you are saying, once you get used to it???? Why should I have
to "get used to" the controls for a fricking radio or climate control
system????? My point is how do you possibly justify the expense of this
junk? Instead of nice turbocharged engines we get gas guzzlers with control
centers that cost more than the damn turbo they whined about as far as
replacement costs go. So to answer the question let's take a quiz:
Does MMI make the car
a) safer?
b) faster?
c) handle better?
d) get better gas mileage?
e) easier to drive?
f) more convenient to get in and out of?
g) have more space?
h) more likely to have a costly repair bill and get in an accident due to
driver distraction
Those of you who chose "h" were obvioously not in the last Audi marketing
survey as you cheked the "yes" box for having common sense at some point in
a past visit to the stealer :)

I own an 93 S4 & a 95 A6 avant, I currently also have an Audi Q7 3.6, and I
just turned in my Q7 4.2. I also had an 05 A6 3.2 and several Audi A8's both
04 & 05. I have used all the MMI systems currently out and I can tell you
that just like any car, once you know all the controls, you will see that
the MMI is not as bad as you think, if not better. As for the radio
stations, how many times do you manually tune in radios stations. The MMI
system displays all available stations in the list. If there is a station
you ways listen to, it stores the last 5 stations at the top of the list. As
for the AC blower, the AC panel has a blower symbol right next to the knob.
Once you press the button, just turn the knob to adjust the blower manually.
I find most people find it harder to open the glovebox on the A6 & Q7, than
work the AC IMHO.
