ditto here- though I was a spectator while a student
at MTU.  The quattros decimated the field, wasn't it
Buffom and Mikkola 2 years in a row?  Actually, I
heard one before I saw it- and decided then and there
I would own one someday.  That sound of a 5 cylinder
ripping through the midnight forest sticks with me to
this day.  Took 10 more years and a stint with a
Scirocco (poor man's quattro substitute?) before I
could afford a 1-year old coupe quattro (in '92 used
urq's were about the same price and that cq interior
was... and still is... sooo nice), thank goodness for
horrible resale value.  Now I have 3... and probably
will for a while due to said resale value.
