Looks like the links didn't come out exactly as planned. The
Vagparts links
were supposed to be specific WGFV product links. They are on the S2/RS2
engine parts page if you want to look at them. Of course, any parts
from them
will incur higher shipping costs and time since they are in the UK.
They are
high volume S2/RS2 parts suppliers and a reliable source. Same for
impex
as a reliable supplier of US parts.
If you have access to a VAG-COM, the output test cycles the WGFV so you
can hear/feel it operate, and you can disconnect the vacuum line from
the wastegate to also verify operation. As for the adaptive
characteristics
providing optimal pressure rise, I can only assume this is observed by
the proper boost pressure obtained in operation, unless excessive boost
fault codes are found.
An upgraded valve may smooth out the boost for you, but I doubt it is
the cause
of your boost loss or poor fuel mileage.
