I'm not usually up at that hour of the morning, but since I was headed
to the bathroom for the usual 6:00 am pee, I decided to step outside to
see if I could catch the passage. When 6:10 rolled by, I though that I
had missed it, but then at 6:11 it came into view. To me this was a
very impressive sighting. It was much larger than a star and easily
seen with the naked eye. Our sky here in the foothills were perfectly
clear and the path was just as you described. Funny that there was no
news on TV of this happening. Thanks for the heads-up (pun intended) -
very memorable viewing.
