[s-cars] Multifunction sensor Q's

Perhaps a look at <www.sjmautotechnik.com> can best answer your
questions, Paul. But, yes, your codes, and I assume an accompanying
MIL (check
engine light) result in rich engine operation. however, the
underlying cause can be difficult to find. It can be ignition, low
fuel pressure, MAF error, or
exhaust leak causing measurement errors, O2 sensor, or a combination
of failures.

The question about the MFTS is puzzling, since all the sensor does
is run the guage (well, and give an overtemp warning light on the
instrument panel).

The thermostat malfunction is covered by SJM as well, it is slow to
display temp on the guage when first starting and can't maintain
operating temps
when it can't close properly, usually always causing cooler than
normal temps that may result in fuel enrichment.
