are you sure the old one is brown? mine did look kind of brown, but
that was probably due to age and being soaked by oil from a leaking
camshaft seal.
so i would bet on connecting black to black, green to green, and red
to brown. the CPS sensor wiring follows the hardline for the vacuum
signal to the bypass valve, and comes out into a plug under the black
fuel rail cover, at the front of the engine. it is easy to change the
wiring without having to remove the timing belt and cam pulley, if it
turns out your wiring is wrong.
