That gives me an idea. The next time someone needs to get their insurance
people to pay out for a totaled UrS we should all list ours on e-bay for 25k
so they can reference the sale prices :)

Points well made, but somewhat moot since even had all that had been done,
still no $100k!
Maybe we should all follow along and mimic what I heard the Rolls Royce
club
does on occasion. Advertise the cars publicly at very inflated prices, and
reap the psychological benefits of most people "thinking" they are now worth
(and selling at) those prices.
When they had to appraise my wrecked 83, they relied on 3 running ads at
the
time. Unfortunately one was for a CGT and they didn't know the difference.
They did not even acknowledge the difference once it was pointed out to
them.
If there had been a few ads like this at that time, who knows what that
would
have done to the "by the book" insurance appraisers. That would have sort
of
rocked their world, and they would have been forced into some other
"chicken
dance" to prove my car wasn't worth what I had to pay for another one.
Oh well - it's still just nutso crazy.
