No, no, don't screw things up more than you have already. :-) I never
thought you were going to be dumb enough to latch the hood shut with
things weren't right with it staying closed. :-)
Just take a wire coat hangar and make a small (1/2") hook on the end.
The cable clip has probably come loose and the cable has too much
slack, but you should be able to hook the cable through the top louver
in the grill on the drivers side and pull to release the catch. HTH
