[s-cars] Dead Speedo

I would expect it is not a really serious problem, Riff. The
electronic speedometer
has been very reliable in the S6. The sensor is on the left side of
the transmission.
I would verify the connection is good and perhaps clean the
contacts. There are
many opportunities for liquids to compromise the connections. The
sensor is not
an expensive item and available from many online parts suppliers as
well.

You can also check channel 17 on the HVAC head for vehicle speed
information
to verify where the problem lies. See the knowledge base in Audifans
for details.

Even if it is the speedometer head itself there should be several
available used
from the marketplace or Force 5/ Shokan/ Dads, especially if someone
has a
damaged cluster to purchase the donor from. Details for removing the
instrument
cluster are well documented on s-cars.org and other places.

You shouldn't make comments like that, Riff. The car may be
listening. :-)
