[s-cars] what shocks?

I would rather think over damping with the Boge. I selected the shock model
in the German Boge catalogue, A6/S6 with sport suspension, a shock which,
IIRC, is not in the US catalogue. And the German catalogue usually specifies
shocks with higher damping. I had very good results with my ex-90Q20V
following the Euro catalog instead of the US catalog. Apparently, thats not
the case with the S6, or at least not when using the sport suspension shock
on the SUV springed US-S6.
I though about Koni Adjustables at one point, somewhat like a
one-size-fit-all solution, but I dont feel knowledgeable enough about
suspension to start playing with the damping using my buttaccelerometer as a
measuring tool. Id rather go with a tried and trued solution you just need
to bolt-on, like Bilstein or Boge. Last point is the last thing I care of is
a lifetime guarantee, the S-Bitch is approaching a beaten 200Kmiles and will
probably not last more than another 50Kmiles. So anything half decent would
do.
So, following questions are:
- Is there any alternative to the Bilsteins HD, such as Boge shocks
that suit the 92 springs?
- What a Bilstein HD set go for presently?
- Where should I buy them?
Vincent.

This sounds like an underdamped system. Bilsteins should be a decent match.
If you're uncertain, you may find Koni Adjustables worth working with. Both
have lifetime guarantees, although generally speaking, Bilstein are better
built. And the reality, the "adjustability" of Koni's was more intended to
compensate for wear, not adjust damping rates, even though that's what
everyone uses the adjusters for anyway.

While talking about shocks, I plan to install '92 springs on my '96 S-Bitch
(anything lower will probably leaves some low hanging parts in each pothole
we have in Montreal.)
I have had Boge Turbogas for almost a year with the stock springs and it's
really harsh, uncomfortable while still wavy in tight turns, exactly the
opposite of what I'm looking for.
What would be your recommended shocks for '92 springs? I would like my spine
to survive Montreal potholes (think Mariana trench) while still being able
to rush through on-ramps.
Vincent.

I have a fresh set of Bilsteins and Eibach Pro-Kit. A really balanced
ride/handling compromise, unfortunately, I'm not sure if the Eibach's are
still availible. You do need the rear spacer to make the car level.
