Actually, because the Yugo is based heavily on an old Fiat model, you can
put a ton
of go-fast stuff into the cars. Scary thought, eh?

There was a Yugo listed on Autoweek's classifieds a while back that had a
built Lampredi
engine and lots of other crazy stuff. He wanted something crazy, like $25k,
though. I wonder
if it ever sold- probably one of the most powerful and heavily prepped Yugos
out there (I think
it was making north of 200hp).

There is also a guy who might still run in the Philly region SCCA Solo that
has a worked Yugo.

I'd rather go with the Ur Mini, but rather than motorcycle engines, I'd get
the one with the ITR
engine. People might call it torqueless, but in an original Mini, that
110lb-ft. or whatever is plenty,
and you can't argue with 195hp and a 8500rpm redline.
