Hmmm my SR has stuck to the point I disconnected it to avoid problems
through the winter. What is the recommended lubrication for this?

Randy,
My fix had to do with the dial control not returning to 12 and 6 oclock
whenst the SR was closed.
I "think" your issue (i.e. dead SR) sounds more like an electrical issue.
maybe a fuse, but that's too easy.
My guess is that an old and sticky SR could over power a relay and burn out
a trace connection on the circuit board inside.
(btdt with cabrio window relay)
If you can find the SR relay perhaps you can open it, find the burned out
spot and solder it up. This may be a stretch but it may work.
The larger issue is to lube up the SR and get it working properly so it
doesn't draw too many amps.
If you do open the SR control panel and should you venture in to opening the
switch, at first glance (IIRC) one of the contacts may appear to be worn
out.
I believe a much closer inspection will show that this is how it was
designed. Look with a magnifying glass.
Now is also the time to install your summer floor mats, top off the pisser
fluid and clean your engine.
There ya go!
