The switch doesn't not return to position when you close the SR with the
key. But, with the previous 2/3 close symptom, your SR rails definitely
requires some lube, and a good cleaning before the lube to remove all old
grease/gunk/dust probably stuck there. WD-40 does great for cleaning, then a
silicone lube.

And, with an unlubed SR, your problem is most probably related to a burnt
something: fuse, relay or, hopefully not, motor/motor brushes.
