[s-cars] Driveline Slop

Mark:

It could be the additive effect of many wear items; such as motor mounts,
tranmission mounts, dual mass flywheel, differential mounts, differential.

Check to see how much play is in the diff ring and pinion by rotating the prop
shaft back and forth, should be less than 5 mm, on mine its about 3 mm.

While you are under there, check the 2 forward diff mounts and single rear one
by using a large prybar to see how much movement is there. Same for trans
mounts.

For motor mounts, ask a helper to slowly cycle the clutch in/out in 1st gear
with the paking brake on and see how much the engine moves. Excessive movement
is a sign of worn engine mounts.
