Not sure about the S6, but the S4 has a tiny fan that draws air down into 
the dash to measure the internal temp for climate control purposes. This 
little fan, which resides mid-dash under a little mini vent, loves to 
collect dirt and produce a high-pitched squeal. You can verify it is the 
problem, by placing a thumb (or whatever appendage you might have handy) 
over the mini-vent and see if the sound changes.

If this is the problem, in my experience, it tends to work itself out, as 
the dust/dirt/crap goes away. Worth checking, before ripping the dash apart.
