Brandon , I was told that the MC-1 would fit the wx block if I used the MC Head gasket. I don't know what the machinist knows , as the shop owner is the only one who has contact with him--I do not... I seem to remember some posts about water or oil passages, but no details. I am assuming that the gasket somehow "solves" the problem by blocking off some passages or something like that. I hope I have it right. I don't want another meltdown or the like! Thanks for the imput ... ...Stephen R. '85Urq.. Oh, by the way, if it was you who told me about Ron Davis Radiators, thanks... It is working quite well !-- no increase in water temps on all the dyno pulls.

Forgive me if I missed something in a previous post - but keep in mind the
MC head will need to be modded to work on a WX block. I personally think
that would be a decent way to go - however I think there are others who have
done a abbreviated MC swap with even better results - by abbreviated I'm
thinking long block and ECU - but keep WX fuel system - not sure - maybe
others can chime in. But back to MC head on WX block - you gotta get
somebody who knows how to modify the head. It's an oil or coolant passage
that needs to be modded.

---------- Thanks for the info Ben. I am interested in the MC-1 , 5000Tq
Head. I need the cam too . I am assuming that the head has valves and
springs etc. So , possibly I won't have to have too much, if any ,
machining done. I will check with the shop owner to make sure he has not
gotten one locally yet. I should know by tonite, I hope. take care,

Steve,
I will give both heads a going over in the AM, but last I recall, they
were both in great shape. I always presume to require a valve seal job
along with a lap on any head I get.
The NF head is from the 100 non-turbo, and had larger valves and is a good
upgrade. The bolt-up and fitment is otherwise identical to the MC-1. I
have bee using these to mockup engine builds and was going to use for mine.
I have a lot of miscellaneous parts from the 5000 turbo quttro engines
including complete CIS systems, ECU and harness - basically all parts to put
together a complete installation.
Yes, shipping to Washington can be expensive. I just shipped a head to
Oregon and it was $65 including insurance. But I'm not asking a whole lot
for these nice heads - maybe $125, so shipping + part cost is not too bad.
LMK what you think. I can take pictures, but only if you are fairly
committed, as this takes time.

----------- What can you tell me about the condition of the heads and
which is the 5000tq head ? I don't know what the NF stands for I am
assuming it is a naturally aspirated head from ?? Does the 5000tq head come
with a cam? What are the other conversion parts you mention? Where are
you located? I am in Seattle. I'm thinking shipping costs , Thanks

I have both an MC-1 and an NF head(has larger valves.
I have some other conversion parts you may need as well.
